Food For Thought


Our group designed a touchscreen system to enhance the dining experience in upscale restaurants. The scope of this system is an interactive menu with details on each dish and an improved payment system. Our members conducted a survey, contextual inquiry, and still photo survey to better understand the restaurant experience for diners to help us with our design process. From the insights we gained, we sketched out several ideas, ending up with a “Tabletop Display” interface. We created a concept video prototyping the table top’s user experience. We also conducted a simple usability evaluation with this prototype with two users and learned specific strengths and flaws of our design.
